Unless you’ve been living in a hole, it’s been impossible (particularly in the UK) to ignore the news of the Oasis reunion. While the Gallaghers’ ’90s heyday was a bit before my time, as a seasoned festival goer, I know the frustration of being stuck in an online queue – you’ve got as many fingers crossed as you have devices open in a bid to secure the precious tickets.
However, of all the times I’ve battled with dodgy wi-fi connections and other music fans, I’ve never faced dynamic pricing. To spend hours waiting patiently, and to then find that the price is twice what you were expecting, with just seconds to make a decision, is outrageous from a number of perspectives.
A terrible Customer Experience is terrible for your business ❌
Regardless of the product you are selling, whether that’s tickets for a gig at Wembley stadium or flyers to promote your mates’ band, user experience (UX) is paramount. Today’s customer wants certainty, transparency and a seamless experience.
They certainly don’t want last minute price hikes that pressure them into a decision. However, from the countless conversations I’ve had with various members of the print industry, it’s clear that the spike in inflation we saw over the course of 2021 and caused similar issues for clients and printers.
Clients would place an order, the printer would come back with a quote, the customer would agree to the price. However, due to soaring materials and energy costs, the cost of the job would have changed dramatically during that time, sometimes within the space of a few hours.
This meant either having to go back to the customer to inform them that the price had increased again or suck up the loss. Obviously, neither of these is a great long-term strategy for business growth.
Web-to-print = pricing transparency ✅
But this wasn’t an issue faced by businesses that were already using the Infigo web-to-print platform.
Even when inflation was at its highest, and paper costs were soaring, companies using Infigo’s software were able to give their customers transparent pricing, that was right up to date.
This is because the Infigo platform can be integrated with a number of other platforms, including MIS and PunchOut catalogues. This means that the client gets a real-time quote, based on the current price of materials.
By integrating payment gateways, clients can also pay instantly, so cashflow isn’t left to guess work.

In short, with the Infigo platform, you can create a portal or website that gives real time pricing and the client the ability to instantly pay at that price. For corporate clients, print budgets can be set, so that they have real-time oversight of how far their budget is going.
