Case study: FE Burman

Posted on

FE Burman is a London-based printer that provides innovative design-led creative print, litho and digital printing services. The company combines traditional skills with the latest technologies and software solutions to create amazing bespoke printed products.

This includes everything from direct marketing products such as brochures, stationery, business cards, menus, greetings cards, leaflet & flyers, labels & stickers, to books and boxes. FE Burman has been using the Infigo platform for more than five years.

The problem

FE Burman had previously developed its own in-house web-to-print platform. While it was purpose built it also was proving cumbersome. When asked what the challenges were with the existing platform, Roger White, Creative & Technical Director for FE Burman, said: “Ease-of-use, both from an admin and customer prospective, platform reliability, security and developer costs.”

However, with the Infigo platform, FE Burman’s team and clients have a highly intuitive and user face interface, that is simple to use, whether that’s managing the back end or creating orders through the storefront. And with SOC certification and storefront’s hosted in a secure AWS Environment, FE Burman’s team and clients have the reassurance that all their data is secure.

With Infigo’s team of world-class developers and cutting-edge integrations, it eliminates the small development snags that FE Burman experienced, with their proprietary platform.

Groundbreaking integration

To reduce manual touchpoints and automate aspects of the workflow, FE Burman have used Infigo’s Connect: Flow module, to integrate with a number of other systems in the workflow. This plugin was developed as more of a general catch-all for integrations where a JSON or XML file is required to be created on order placement and then absorbed by a third party system.

The Connect: Flow plugin provides job information in a specified file type and format that can then be handled externally by a third party software.

FE Burman has also utilised our dedicated EasyPost integration. Through the EasyPost API, customer information is synced from the Infigo storefront, so you don’t have to waste time re-keying shipping details. EasyPost’s Shipping API makes it easy for customers to shop between carriers with live rate generation, buy and print labels, and track packages when ordering print products through an Infigo storefront.

World-class support and an improved workflow

Roger said that he would have no hesitation in recommending Infigo. With FE Burman enjoying a number of cost savings, which the business has been able to pass on to its customers. Speed to market has also been massively improved.

Roger said: “The ease-of-use and scalability for both admin and the customer are reflected in saved time and developer costs.

The platform has provided us with the ability to quickly turn around a working product or storefront demo for potential clients as well as a stable easy to use storefront platform. Turnaround from concept and brief to a live storefront with multiple users, offices and products went from months to days or weeks.”

One of the biggest time savings comes from the ability to perform automated low-res PDF proof before checkout and approval workflow, which previously could only be carried out manually.

When asked what he would say to anyone considering investing in web-to-print, Roger simply said: “Book a demo with Infigo.”

We can’t say much fairer than that!

"The platform has provided us with the ability to quickly turn around a working product or storefront demo. Turnaround from concept to live storefront went from months to days."
